The Servant Brutes are one type of The Gatherers seen in the game Amnesia: The Dark Descent, as well as one of the more dangerous types of Gatherers, being able to kill Daniel in one hit. Alexander, realizing that his former ally attempting to kill him, locks himself in an isolated area of the castle and orders a few Gatherers', the Servant Grunts and Servant Brutes, to hunt Daniel and murder him. After Daniel realizes Alexander he is a power hungry sociopath who wants to selfishly keep the Orb's power for himself, he goes on a mission to hunt the baron down. When the young Englishman Daniel stumbled upon Brennenburg castle, he teamed up with Alexander, the baron and the Gatherers', to stop the Shadow from slaughtering innocents who get their hands on the Orb. They are able to destroy wooden doors with an arm swipe or two and can almost outrun a fit average man such as Daniel. Though they are physically unattractive, they make up for their inhuman strength and speed.
Unlike Grunts, however, they do not gasp and hold their hand(s) to their mouths before looking around when an object is thrown and makes a loud noise.The disgustingly deformed monsters were apparently deceased soldiers who were brought back to life via the Orb's magical necromancy powers, cursed to forever serve the Orb's current/former wielder, Alexander. Much like a Grunt, Brutes also seem to have emotions, when whimpering or crying, with distress, and when attacking you, with aggression. They wear what appears to be a crudely patched metallic tunic with no leggings this tunic does not cover the Brute's back, however. They can be distinguished from the Servant Grunts by their split-head and the large hamstring blade that has been grafted into their left arm, as well as the other plates grafted into their legs and their other arm. In place of a left forearm, they have a metal shaft with a massive attached blade. These plates make metallic scraping noises when the Brute walks, making it relatively easy to know whether or not he is coming towards Daniel or not. They are missing the index toe on their left foot. It is difficult to see this eye from afar.īrutes wear leg-less, metal rivets layered over each other and have metal plates and nails that connect their arms and legs at their joints. They have heads that are split open in an almost floral shape, with teeth lining the inside of the opening along with a single small eye hidden far back. They are noticeably thinner than Grunts, as well.
The Servant Brutes have a distinctive brown-green colour, unlike the pale white of their Grunt counterparts. Name: Servant Brute (Amnesia The Dark Descent)
